Hello,

I'm Mr. Peroni, one of the Physics teachers at North Shore.  I originate from upstate NY (Rome), and attended SUNY Oswego for my undergraduate degree in Adolescence Education w/ Physics concentrate. I also attended graduate school at Buffalo State University for my Masters in Physics Education.   I love to ask "Why are we here?, "How does nature and/or technology work?", and "What is the universe made up of?"

These complex questions deserve complex answers.  High School Physics is the starting point to the answers.  It is my goal for students to leave my class in June with an appreciation for the world around them, and a new skillset to help them analyze problems they may encounter in their future endevours. They will use these skills no matter what profession they choose.

I teach with a researched and proven modeling approach, which allows students to discover, create, and construct their own meaning of physics without the normal chalk and talk method.  Students in my class will be challenged to think in ways they have not experienced during their K-12 education.  Instead of giving them facts, formulas, and concepts; my students will explore, experiment, derive, and be able to explain and understand the material through carefully planned activities and investigations.  In other words, they will become real scientists from the moment they walk in the door. (more information about this approach can be supplied upon request)

Besides my goal for my students, I do enjoy many activities.  I love to snowboard, golf, hike, paintball, scuba dive, and bike.  I enjoy all sports, and am a big Yankees, Sabres, Syracuse Univ, and Bills fan.  <--- There is a lot of physics in there!

Stop by my office if you have any questions or concerns, or feel free to email me anytime.
